Friends forever are hard to find these days. People have almost forgotten the true meaning of friendship and friendship day. With new cultural and behavioral revolution people just make friends to pass time and catch up after a hectic friend.

However, if we look at our Indian historical friends we would rather get a different picture. Actual friends forever had staked their life, given up on their ego and helped their friend in need. We must revive our bonds and look out for that true friend we have but have ignored them as life caught us on. Therefore, on the advent of friendship day let us check the major Indian history of Indian friends.

Krishna and Arjun

We all know about the Mahabharata but we hardly know about their bond. These historical friends are really meant to be remembered as they set the true example of the bond. They are truly meant to be friends forever.

rnThe story revolves around the Great War when Arjun was almost losing to Karan, Krishna came to rescue. He was a neutral mentor but he showed Arjun the right path of success. He saved Arjun and his family from the disastrous war. Nevertheless, we would always hear the example of this from our elders on friendship day.

Karan and Duryodhan

Again friendship is well reflected and this is one of the greatest sacrifices in the Indian history, just for true friendship. Karan was treated as lower caste as he didn’t not have recognized birth but he was excellent at war fare and a true warrior. Duryodhan seeing his plight and understand him as a human being gave him a small piece of his land to rule. Karan felt gratitude towards him and friendship developed.

Karan was fighting against pandavas, when Krishna came and told him he is actually fighting against his brother because he was the secret son of Kunti. Still, Karan didn’t leave Duryodhan’s side and gave up his life as a friend. Duryodhan and Karan are true historical friends who had set the best example in society.

Krishna and Sudama

We are all aware of the eternal bond of Krishna and Sudama. Both of them grew up in the same ashram. Sudama was a Brahmin and very simple. Krishna liked his simplicity and made him his friend. On completion of their education, Krishna became the king of Dwarka and Sudama happily accepted the life of a Brahmin.

However, he was very poor and starved for most of the days with his children and wife. Soon, the news came to Krishna and he set to help his friend in need. Krishna was touched by Sudama’s simplicity, for he offered Krishna all he had to serve him and make him feel comfortable. Krishna did not hesitate to give him luxuries and made him a rich man.

Conclusion
We must truly acknowledge friendship day. It is not just another day and we must make our special friend feel special from the core of our heart. Never loose on true friends with fair weather friends.
