Reprogramming Your Negative Thinking, Beliefs & Behaviors (Part 3)

In Part 2 I discussed the second step in the process of reprogramming your negative thinking, beliefs and behaviors - deny, dispute and repudiate. The basic idea I wanted you to take away from that article was that once you've become aware of what you're thinking and how it's negatively affecting your life and your results, you begin working on interrupting the disempowering patterns you've discovered. In this article I'm going to discuss the third and final step - affirming the positive. To affirm means to state positively. It also implies conviction based on evidence, experience, or faith. Affirming the positive things you want to attract into your life is an important part of this 3-step process because of the way your mind works. Your mind is always working to produce what you focus on. Thus, after you deny, dispute and repudiate what you don't want, you need to tell your mind what you do want. You do this by forming a positive affirmation of what you want, and continually feeding that affirmation into your mind until the desired result is produced. Let's return to the example I gave in the previous article, and suppose you'd like to manifest a new job that you actually enjoy. Once you've begun to interrupt the negative thinking you've become aware of by practicing steps 1 and 2, you simply form a positive affirmation about your desired job change and begin repeating that to yourself as often as possible. Some possible affirmations you might consider in this case are: - "I am now enjoying an extremely fun and fulfilling career" - "I am now actively pursuing new career opportunities" - "Nothing can stop me from fulfilling my destiny and finding my next great career opportunity" - "I now manifest the job of my dreams" One of the main points I can't emphasis enough is you've got to learn to control your mind so that you continually focus on "what you want," not "what you don't want." This is the key to all the success and happiness you seek. Master this concept and you master your life! Okay, let's recap the process of reprogramming your negative thinking, beliefs and behaviors... The first step is to become of aware of your negative thinking, beliefs and behaviors. The second step is to consistently deny, dispute and repudiate any negative thoughts you catch yourself entertaining. And finally, the third step is to replace your negative thinking and beliefs with affirmations focused on what you want to manifest. Please keep in mind that this 3-step approach I've outlined for you in these three articles is simply a new skill set that you're just beginning to learn and implement. As with all new skills it's going to take some time and practice, so be patient, persistent, and most of all don't give up!
