Research Papers have become an integral part of all graduate and postgraduate course. The requirements of such papers are stated at the beginning of the sessions itself and each paper holds large amounts of credits for the students to earn. While the credits put the students under stress, there also appear to be some common mistakes that most students make. From not choosing the topics thoughtfully to erring research and presentation, students make certain common mistakes that often cost them their credits. While the teachers do brief the students on the guidelines and tips for writing the research papers, it gets impossible for them to look into each paper individually. Steps For Writing Research PapersrnResearch paper writing isn’t rocket science and with just a little care, the art can be perfected in no time. So here are the steps and tips, that students must follow to carry out research methods to write research papers successfully, that will also get them their very dear credit points. 1. Choosing the topic-rnThis is the most crucial point as this step decides the course that the researcher will have to take. The topic should be crisp and very clear with a certain point to put and a case to defend. The topic should not be a broad field, but a specific case within the broad field of the researcher’s interest. For eg. “Work-Life Balance” would be too broad a topic to cover. Instead, the student can take a topic like “Effects of work-life balance on job satisfaction”. This topic is more specific and refers to a problem to be solved. 2. Finding relevant information from various sources-rnResearch is the most crucial part of writing a paper. Understand the topic carefully and explore all possible sources that could give you relevant and useful information. Look for primary as well as secondary information and do not rely on a single source. 3. Organize Your ResearchrnOrganize your findings into useful and presentable information. Bring out conclusions from the facts you find and prepare a case to defend your say on the topic. 4. Write an outlinernPrepare an outline of the paper as to what and how you will be putting in it. Draft your case and the facts that you will be stating. Place your pictures and examples well. Pay attention to the formatting guidelines and other required details. 5. Writing the PaperrnThere are three main parts that you need to divide your paper into. The introduction, body and conclusion. - IntroductionrnThis should be a gist of what you are going to talk about in your paper. It should state the problem question that you are going to address and hint at the probable solutions/answers to the question addressed. - BodyrnThis is where you will give evidence to support your case. Do not forget to give practical examples in support of the case. The rule of 3 applies here, which means a minimum of 3 examples should be given to support the case. Supporting literature, facts and derivation will all constitute this part of the paper. ConclusionrnThis will be the closing statement of your paper in which you would have to write down what you derive from your research. Based on the evidence and facts you present in the body, this part will answer the question that you meant to address in your paper.rn6. Finalize your draftrnRevise your paper before you print it. Look for spelling and other formatting errors. Add the bibliography and other support pages and give the presentation part a glance. Go ahead and finalize the paper once all aspects have been checked. Writing a research paper has become one of the most important parts of modern methods of education and is also the one that gives the students' most amount of stress. Students often fail to meet the guidelines and some may even resort to easier ways like plagiarism or taking paid help. With just a little effort, this problem can be solved and by following the above mentioned steps, students can make it a cake walk to write research papers.
