Window 7 can be restored in Gateway computer to its factory setting. The restoration can help in removing the pesky viruses, old programs and files from your computer. After restoration your computer will be like a clean slate. Your Gateway computer will run fast as a result of deleting and removing old, unnecessary files. It is good to restore your Gateway computer before selling it or giving it to your friend. By doing this it will increase the performance of your computer and more over all your personal or sensitive file and data will be deleted, so you won't have to worry about hiding or deleting it.

Recovering From Windows 7 Home Screen

Step 1
Click on "Start" icon from your screen.

Step 2
Click on All Programs from the Start menu, then browse through it and click on "Gateway".

Step 3
Now click on "Gateway Recovery Management" that will open the application for Gateway Recovery Management.

Step 4
Click at the Restore tab, then go through it and click on Restore System to Factory Default.

Step 5
A dialog box will appear for conform Restoration. Click on yes button to give confirmation.

Step 6
Click OK to give permission when the warning dialog box appears saying that all your personal data on this computer will be deleted.

Step 7
Your computer will restart automatically. As soon as you computer restart, it goes under restoration process. This process might take around 30 to 90 minutes.

Step 8
When restoration process get complete, a dialog box appears saying that your computer has been restored to original factory settings and you need to reboot your Gateway computer, press ok for the conformation.

Recovering your Gateway computer from Startup

Step 1
Turn on or start your Gateway computer. While pressing down the Alt key from your keyboard, keep tapping F10 button during startup until it directed you to Gateway Recovery Management program.

Step 2
Click on “Restore System to Factory Default”

Step 3
When you click the Next button the restoration process will begin. The restoration process might take time around 30 to 90 minutes. So, keep patience and let the restoration process gets complete itself.

Step 4
When restoration process is over, a dialog box appears saying that your computer has been restored to original factory settings and you need to reboot your Gateway computer, press ok for the conformation. After rebooting your Gateway computer running on Window 7 you can start customizing and configuring your Window 7.

Tips & Warnings

Restoring your Gateway computer to its original factory setting will completely erase all of the personal files, data and programs installed in your computer. Create a backup of your personal data before restoring your Gateway computer. Never shut down or restart your Gateway computer in between the restoration process. Doing this might create some serious problem in your hard drive.
