Asthma is a disease of the lungs in which the airways become blocked or narrowed causing breathing difficulty. Asthma is a chronic lung disease that causes episodes of difficult breathing. Asthma symptoms are caused primarily due to constriction, tightening of the muscles surrounding the airways, and inflammation, soreness, swelling and irritation of the airways in the lungs.Allergic rhinitis is excessive discharge of mucus glands in the nose, congestion of the veins in the nasal cavity that can cause blockage of nasal airflow and cause irritation of the sensory nerves in the nose and throat. These symptoms usually occur when airborne allergens are inhaled and are usually harmless until the immune system reacts by making antibodies. These antibodies stick to the surface of special cells called mast cells and release pro-inflammatory substances including histamines which are a cause of asthma.Asthma is the most common chronic disease among children - especially children who have low birth weight, are exposed to tobacco smoke, are black, and are raised in a low-income environment.Asthma is a disease that affects the breathing passages of the lungs. Asthma is caused by chronic inflammation of these passages.People who undergo stress have higher asthma rates. Part of this may be explained by increases in asthma-related behaviors such as smoking that are encouraged by stress. The cause of asthma is also known as a trigger and one trigger is rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis is excessive discharge of mucus glands in the nose, congestion of the veins in the nasal cavity that can cause blockage of nasal airflow and cause irritation of the sensory nerves in the nose and throat.Tobacco smoke, and not just cigarettes but cigars and pipes as well will cause attacks. The cold air can be a cause of asthma. When someone gets anxious it can cause them to start breathing irregularly which will bring on an attack. It is hard to say for certain, what the cause is and hard to diagnose a cure. Asthma may resemble other respiratory problems, such as emphysema, bronchitis and lower respiratory infections. It is often underdiagnosed and many people with the disease do not know they have it. Sometimes, the only symptom is a chronic cough, especially at night, or coughing or wheezing that occurs only with exercise. Some people think they have recurrent bronchitis since respiratory infections usually settle in the chest in a person predisposed to asthma.Asthma tends to run in families, so children whose parents have asthma are more likely to develop it themselves.Asthma, sometimes referred to as bronchial asthma, can start at any age but commonly begins in childhood. Many children grow out of asthma by their teens.Asthma symptoms and signs vary through the day and through the week. Peak flow meter tests twice daily for a week or before and after using a reliever inhaler will show this variation. The peak flow rate may vary by more than 20% in asthma sufferers.asthma causes resistance, or obstruction, to exhaled air, it is called an obstructive lung disease. The medical term for such lung conditions is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD. COPD is actually a group of diseases that includes not only asthma but also chronic bronchitis and emphysema.Asthma is the most common chronic disease among children - especially children who have low birth weight, are exposed to tobacco smoke, are black and are raised in a low-income environment
