Are you sleepwalking through your life or are you creating a vision for how you want your life to be? I grew up in a small Victorian home in Detroit, Michigan. On the weekends, all I wanted to do was drive around the suburbs and look at large homes and dream. I loved going in the evening when I could see the families gathered for dinner at the formal dining room - or around the fireplace where they were playing board games. I would pray real hard that one day we would move to a home that was in a neighborhood where I wasn’t in fear for my life. A neighborhood where there were kids and I could play and have friends. Everytime I suggested we go look, my mom (or dad) would say that they didn’t want to become depressed because we would never move. They wrote their script and didn’t have any motivation to change it. It wasn’t that we were poor, it was that beliefs, some conscious and some unconscious, were so deeply rooted that they both were sure that they would live there because they deserved nothing better. It wasn’t until I was married and living in the suburbs when their home was almost broken into with my mom home. Mom being blind and frightened, decided enough and they moved. Finally. But that home wasn’t their dream home either. They were so caught up in just moving that they once again didn’t focus on writing their life. How many times do you do that too? You just want a companion so badly that you put up with the jerk. You want a job that you love, but are too afraid to change jobs for fear that you will be in a worse position. You want money, but you are too afraid to take chances. It is time to get that big invisible eraser out and erase what you don’t like in your life and start writing your script the way that you DO want. Sit down with pen and paper (or type out in a word document) beginning with a short opening of the day in the life of you. If you always wanted to skydive, write your day out on your way to your skydiving endeavor. Always wanted to go to Disney? Write out a day at Disney. I do this everyday and it has helped change my life. Instead of seeing myself as a struggling psychic/writer/whatever I write about me doing book signings. I see myself standing on the porch of my dream home. I see my kid’s college education being paid. Stir up the emotions inside of you and FEEL it when you write. Scripts are one of the ways you can trick yourself into being - so you can become a vibrational match to what you want. You may cry, smile or even laugh, but what you are really doing is taking control of your life.
