The city also has served as the capital for many years. From 1808 to 1821 in Rio de Janeiro was also the capital of the Portuguese empire. Within Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, commonly called as just Rio de Janeiro. The town is mostly famous for its beaches and natural heritage. But always with these facts Rio is still considered a very violent city due to some major social problems and problems. Geographically, the exact location of the city is Brazil's Atlantic coast. Most of the city area covered faces the south. The city is abundant in rocks, stones, trees, forests and natural vegetation. Rio has a total area of about 456.5 square miles. And the population is believed to be close to 6,136,652. The weather is very warm and humid throughout the year in Rio de Janeiro. Mostly temperature remains above 40 degrees. The south side is the cooler side of the city because of the cool breeze from the ocean. Basically, the south side of town is much visited by tourists because of all the beaches of Rio are in the south. The city has a long spell of rain occurs during the months of December to March. Rio is considered the cultural capital of the country and thus tours to Brazil are not complete without touring Rio. Rio itself is considered as a history book of Brazil. The music is really an important factor in the culture of Brazil. The traditional song of the city is called "Cidade Wonderful," which in English means that the wonderful city. It is considered the anthem of Rio de Janeiro. A mixture of old classical statues and newer lively nightlife and carnivals, Rio offers something to please the traveler visiting all your needs. A celebration of music, life, food and belief, is an unforgettable memory for those auspicious sufficient to participate in it. However, there is the parade of local Samba schools, known as samba schools, as well as Quase Sympathy and Love, which is a popular parade through the city that celebrates love and friendship. However, not just the carnival that tourist chooses Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Many New Year revelers visit the city, to enjoy one of the most complicated fireworks and colorful displays to welcome the New Year. This, together with the incredible nightlife that the city has to offer (for the good, in fact, that the likes of Naomi Campbell and Mick Jagger are known to frequent the city), makes Rio a haven for those seeking the eventual in treat and fun.
