Rocket Your Conversions With A Good Internet Marketing Book
Many people who are just starting out with their own online business begin by selling affiliate products. Unfortunately (for them), they are not building their own list. They send prospects directly to the affiliate merchant’s website. This technique may generate some sales, and will benefit the affiliate merchant greatly. However, it does nothing for the long-term success of the affiliate marketer. Using this technique, the affiliate marketer will have to work just as hard five years from now (if he is still in the business) as he does today. He would definitely benefit by building his own list.
If you don’t believe me, look at some traditional businesses. Your stockbroker, accountant, and doctor all have large lists of clients that they do business with on a regular basis. How long would your doctor remain in business if he did not have a list of patients and had to advertise in the local newspaper each flu season to attract customers? My guess would be – not very long. It’s much easier (and more profitable) to do business with the same people on a regular basis than it is to continually find new people.
You should take a lesson from this example. A better online business model is to focus on building your list. Once someone joins your list, you can send them to your affiliate merchant’s page by sending them an email recommending it. If they do not make a purchase this time, send them another link to that site next month and the month after that. As you can probably see, it makes sense to build a list regardless of whether you are just starting out or have been in the business for several years.
But, what is the best way to get people to subscribe to your list? I’ve found that it is best to use a free Internet marketing book for those who subscribe. People love free stuff and will gladly provide their name and email address if your free Internet marketing book is compelling enough. Make sure that it is something desirable and of good quality.
Using a good squeeze page along with an attractive free Internet marketing book should convert over 20% of the visitors to your site into subscribers. If your conversion numbers are less than that, you should consider making some changes to your opt-in page or change the Internet marketing book that you are offering.
