Rodgers underpaid by league standards
When Aaron Rodgers signed his contract with the Packers back in 2008, he was certainly glad of getting a $65 million dollar deal considering the fact that he had only 7 NFL starts at the moment, but that has definitely changed now that Rodgers is a quarterback that has led the cheese heads to a Super Bowl championship title and has been with the team for 3 years.

By league standards, Rodgers is now underpaid, but the 27 year old player knew what was coming as he stated that “I look at it as I’m fortunate to make the kind of money I make and be in the situation I’m in and be with the Packers’ organization. I want to retire as a Packer. They know that, the fans know that, my teammates know that, and this is where I want to be. I’m not worried about a new contract. We’re still a few years away from me completing this deal, and whenever it comes time to make a new deal, I’m looking forward to maybe signing my last deal, playing it out, and retiring.”

Heat owner fined with $500K
Howard Stern continues to get more and more impatient with the attitude from some team owners concerning the lockout, as it is clear that their stance is not really unified since some of them are not willing to let a full season of profits go in order to help other owners, and the clearest example came recently when the NBA commissioner fined Heat owner Micky Arison with half million dollars for a tweet he posted stating “Honestly u r barking at the wrong owner” which was posted after words from someone who called the people involved in the lockout “greedy pigs.”

Arison is amongst the group of owners from successful teams, with the other party being the owners of franchises that had been losing money and whom want to squeeze the best deal they can from the players. The Miami owner is not the first that has been fined by Stern and the league, as Ted Leonsis, the owner of the Wizards, and Michael Jordan, the owner of the Bobcats, both had to pay $100,000 for similar situations.

It is clear that Stern is having a hard time keeping the owners together, but there is also disagreement at the other side of the fence since executive director Billy Hunter and NBPA president Derek Fisher can’t get to an understanding about the split of revenues, thought most critics are agree about one thing: it will be a 50-50 or no deal at all and the fight being taken to the courts.
