Agra fort built of red sand stone. It is belived to say that Emperor Shah Jahan who built Taj Mahal, was made a home arrest by his own son Aurangjeb in Red fort. He spent his last eight years of life in Red fort looking at the Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal can still be seen from Agra fort as well. Incredible architecture was applied to build the Agra Fort. When it comes to the visit of Fatehpur sikri, situated 40 km away from Agra, often called as Abandoned city. Mughal emperor Akbar started the construction of Fateh pur sikri in 1570. It took 15 years to complet the structure and was later abandoned by the emeror himself due to drought in the area. It was regarded as the first planned city of Mughals where Indian, Persian and Islamic architecture can be spotted in the building. Timing to visit this monument is 06:00 AM to 07:30 PM Agra’s close proximity with Delhi has inspired us to make a holidays, which suits all. Agra’s tour can be done in a day from Delhi by train or road. There are options available to travel to Agra either by fast train or by road. We leave it up to the traveler’s choice. Lets take up train as an option first, Shatabdi train is the best suitable train for this tour. Shatabdi trains are available for both ways (Going to Agra and coming back to Delhi). It leaves at 06:00 AM and reaches Agra in 2 hours. It leaves from Agra at 08:35 PM for Delhi. Breakfast is served in the train so as dinner is, on way back. Once landed up in Agra, you are picked up from railway station and guided tour starts from here onwords. Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri are the major attractions of the sightseeing of Agra. Lunch is provided during the day at five star hotel. If time permits, shopping in Agra is also a good option to spend time till train departs from Agra.
