Promo codes allow you to save percentages or dollar amounts when you check out of a store, whether online or in person. Websites such as www.GoPromoCodes.com and others offer promo codes across a wide range of categories. Let’s look at ten such categories and the recent, enviable savings I found in them: 1. Auto — I actually found a promo code for an auto insurance provider on www.GoPromoCodes.com. It offered $100 off an AllState deductable, so I switched immediately. Savings such as these take the sting out of paying for auto insurance, which I have not once used in the several years I’ve been driving. The auto category also contained hundreds of promo codes for auto parts and accessories. In fact, I used one recently to purchase new windshield wipers. 2. Baby & Kids — I have two kids under the age of ten, so you can understand why I am constantly on the lookout for promo codes. Typically subcategories in this area include clothing, gear, furniture and bedding, and toys and games. I recently used a North Face promo code for girls’ jackets and vests to save on a new winter coat for my daughter. She grows out of clothing so quickly these days, saving any bit helps keep her in clothes that both fit and are fashionable, a must for any tween. 3. Beauty — From hair care to skin care, every member of my family uses “beauty” products. I recently found a coupon code on www.GoPromoCodes.com for 20% off retail prices of beauty items at Target.com. We stocked up for the next few months and saved a bundle. 4. Computers — When we had to replace the family computer, I searched high and low for the best deal, then I went on the hunt for promo codes. I found several Logitech coupon codes that allowed me to save on everything from the computer to the keyboard and the mouse. With big ticket items such as these, promo codes can make such purchases possible. 5. Electronics — We use new video games as a way to pay our kids for chores done around the house. That way, they learn the value of working for what they want. JJ Game, GameTap, EB Games and GameFly are just a few of the stores that show up on a search for promo codes. Even if the codes just offer free shipping, we save money. 6. Food — I was surprised the first time I saw this category on a promo codes website. We have Safeway regularly deliver items we use on an ongoing basis; I always grab a free shipping promo code before I place my order. 7. Home & Garden — Any time I purchase anything for the home, I look for a promo code so I can save money. Appliances, Bed & Bath, Blinds & Curtains, Cleaning Items & Vacuums, Furniture, Home Accents, Home Improvement, Kitchen & Housewares and Outdoor Living make up the subcategories in this area on www.GoPromoCodes.com. When I recently had to replace our dishwasher, I found a five percent off coupon and used it to lower the price. 8. Music — Parents know not to spend more than necessary on a musical instrument for their child. After all, one day she might be dying to learn to play the flute. The next day a drum kit tops her list of wants. You name the instrument and a promo code exists to help you save money on it. 9. Pets — Never pay full price for your pet supplies or medications again with promo codes in this category. I recently used a five percent off all orders at 1800PetMeds.com promo code I found at www.GoPromoCodes.com and saved on flea and tick prevention for the upcoming year. It also came with free shipping. 10. Travel — The most recent Travel Price Index showed a 3.6-percent rise year-over-year, which means families such as mine must make sacrifices in terms of type and length of vacations we take. To help lessen the effect of a down economy on our fun, I booked my family’s upcoming summer vacation to California using two Orbitz promotion codes I found on www.GoPromoCodes.com. We saved $100 off the total cost of our hotel stay, and we saved 5% off car rental. Dozens of additional categories exist in which you can find promo codes. The best advice I can offer is to make looking for them a part of your shopping process, no matter what you are shopping for. Find the item and brand you want, then search websites such as www.GoPromoCodes.com for promo codes for the specific item, or you can browse the website to find promo codes offering the best deal. No matter how you shop, you will see monthly and annual savings as a result of using promo codes.
