There is an initial one-time $49 enrollment fee plus a $49 dollar payment for the first month of service. There is NO contract when you join Solavei either. If you Bring Your Own Phone you will need a SIM card to work on the Solavei network at a cost of $29. So if you bring your own unlocked GSM phone, your initial startup charge will be $135 with tax. If you have a phone through AT&T or T-Mobile, then you can use your exiting phone. Most of AT&T and T-Mobile phones are GSM phones which are compatible to the Solavei network. Verizon, Sprint, Boost Mobile phones run on CDMA technology and will not work on the Solavei network. It is possible to unlock the Sprint and Verizon Iphones.
