Getting married with all the planning is typically a stressful time for both the bride to be and groom. However, you need a chance to say your goodbyes to the single life, which traditionally happens with the hen and bucks party. Typically, the best man plans the buck's party and the chief bridesmaid is responsible for planning the hen's party. Every couple is different and some want to plan their whole party or at least have a hand in it, while other couples prefer that they be surprised. If you have a small wedding party, everyone could take a short boat ride to see a sunset, which is an excellent way to unwind and relax. The idea of the hen's party is pampering, relaxation, and remembering their single life as well as preparing for their future married life.

If you are the best man and in charge of the buck's party, you might want to take the men fishing for a day, depending on the group it can be a great way to relax. You could also do some jet skiing or parachute jumping if you want to do to something a bit more daring, but keep in mind jumping out of a plane typically does not relax anyone! Make sure to plan a lunch for the group, which is a great way for the groom to get to know any of the men that may have joined from the bride's side.

The point of the hen and buck's parties are to have a good time relaxing, having fun, enjoying friends, and getting to know others all while saying goodbye to the single life. Keep in mind that a buck's party does not have to consist of heading to the nightclubs or having a stripper, which is not something the bride to be, may appreciate. There are many other ways to celebrate being single as a man for the last few days before his wedding.

The basics for the both the parties are to get the bride to be and groom out of the stress of planning the wedding, and just relax and have a good time as they did before planning their wedding. Often planning for a wedding becomes so stressful that both people are on overload and do not even realise it.
