A complete ban on the sale of cosmetics manufactured through animal testing has taken effect in the EU. The ban applies to all the new cosmetics and their ingredients that are sold in the EU, regardless of the geographical location where the testing on fauna was being carried out. However, this ban is not just limited to the EU as now the EU Commission has also started asking their trading partners from the U.S.A and other parts of the globe to implement the same. According to the Animal Welfare Organizations reports, there are still many countries in the world that test on creatures for developing various cosmetics and clothing’s. Hence, in order to bring a halt to such inhumane actions of the cosmetic industry the EU Commission started initiatives for a global ban. Being the society where the powerful minority holds the majority, the fauna are being treated with inhumane behavior and abuse. However it is not difficult to comprehend the reason for such actions as we can clearly observe the cruel acts are being carried out as per the above contempt. But what is hard to break is the act of cruelty, and this can only be done by the individual attempt and effort. This ban can be an initiative to stop the abuse and torture throughout the world and to bring about a change for the Animal Welfare. One big reason for such brutality can be the lack of awareness about alternatives to animal testing. The people must understand that there are numerous other natural ways by which one can get all such products without taking the lives of the innocents. One can go for herbal products rather than going for animal based products and save the creatures lives. rnHere are a few questions that one must ask with respect to the animal testing: • Do we really need to have such testing? • Is it really necessary that we use the testing to make our cosmetics and beauty products? • When will we say no to such cruelty? • Do we ever understand that such tests make the creatures suffer and also at times can beat them to death? • Is it Ever Acceptable? Animal testing has always been a sensitive subject that many Animal Welfare Organizations are working on today. Generally, if one goes judging the topic of the testing he will find himself/herself standing at the wrong end of both sides of the argument. This testing can be considered as non vital experiments when being carried out for the manufacture of makeup products and cosmetic medicines. Whereas, when it comes to development of life saving drugs it is always better to test in on the fauna before introducing it into the open market. But this statement shows how Sybaritic humans are. rnHumans must understand that the life is equal for all. Whether it is Dogs, cats, maggots, tigers, monkeys, or even ants they have their own life. And as long as they have their consciousness, they should be respected equally and given the freedom to survive on the planet. But despite the contrary, there are still many places like medical research institutions where such testing is still being followed in order to show how effective the medicines are and what complications do they show when reacted on the living body. And for this reason the voiceless creatures often become the victims. rnHowever, one of the most effective ways of opposing to such act can be by banning the use of such tested products and drugs. By this we can contribute our part for the Animal Welfare and bring about a change for the innocent victims of the cruel testing. Remember, these creatures do not have a voice, so we must use our purchasing power to speak out for them.
