The continual adoption of online services for e-commerce has increased employability in operations projects. Consequently, the demand for MBA graduates with Operations as their specialization is in full swing in India. However, it's not just the eCommerce sector that has raised the demand, but other industries that involve production, manufacturing, and supervision of products or services are equally in dire need of professionals with an MBA in operations. When you take the size of the country and scarcity of resources into account, you'll know that operations management is assuredly one of the most important fields of management in India. Even though the large population of India lends itself to a large-scale market when it comes to manufacturing and operations, the challenges are posed by a relatively lower maturity value of available technologies. However, such conditions are effective in producing opportunities for services that are agile and lean. These are operations challenges that are unique to India. To deal with such hurdles, numerous MBA colleges are offering specialization in operations management to train students on how to use operations to solve business conditions. What types of operations are job roles available to MBAs in India? Indian industries sustain a repository for talent that can take on operations job duties. For instance, most of the graduates from esteemed B-schools in India have conformed themselves to work in the following industries: ●E-commerce; ●Manufacturing; ●IT and ITES (Information Technology Enabled Service); ●Telecoms; andrn●Consulting. E-commerce businesses could hire MBAs with responsibilities throughout any of the following industry areas: ●Supply Chainrn●Logisticsrn●Vendor Managementrn●Inventory Managementrn●Fulfillmentrn●Returns and Delivery. Note: Individual giants in the e-commerce sector, such as Amazon have also launched leadership development programs that put particular focus on operations areas of the industry. IT and ITES firms have recently begun to employ candidates with an MBA in operations for back-end operations in which smaller units cater to parent companies in the areas of investment, monetary services, law, and insurance. Elsewhere, telecom companies employ operations manager mostly for client service and circle level operations (which connect to city or state-wide cellular service regions or 'circles'). Consulting companies, however, are searching for people who can concentrate on the area of operations, as most of the major consulting companies have their operations practices. Expected job development for operational management professionals is roughly estimated to 12.5 percent, which will be more agile than the average for all professions analyzed by the BLS. Operations managers who have logistics experience may expect more prominent job opportunities; the projected job growth rate for logisticians is estimated to be roughly around 22 percent. While operations managers often appear to have no clearly defined job descriptions, their role is critical for business growth. Without this grip all, operations management position that requires organizational skills, initiative, communication skills, and the motivation to follow up on activities companies wouldn't fulfill their clients' quality expectations.
