Although Google has maintained that the search volume does not affect the ranks of every page in the SERPs, SEO practitioners have been seeing the opposite. In fact, earlier in MozCon in Seattle, Martin MacDonald, presented an interesting case study about how the search volume for a term influence SERPs particular search and was able to drive more traffic to your site by manipulating search volume.
In his review of SEOmoz blog of his presentation, he recounts (in general) the way he was able to manipulate the search to the point that his name appeared on the immediate results and Google improved its position in the SERPs Web site. But how do you handle the volume of search queries and the strategies it used to go about increasing your page rank through the manipulation of the volume of search queries?
Find the volume of inquiries increased
The basic theory of how the search query volume affect page rank is that if you look up the term in particular and the vast majority of those searches seem to click the same link, then obviously that will link should be moved up in the result.
MacDonald had some success with this tactic and was not only able to gather a better page rank and more traffic, but the term began to appear in Google, auto-suggestions, thus influencing more people to seek out his term.
That’s all very well but is really about how to get more people to seek a term to classify and click on the link?
Marketing Strategies
If you have a big budget, you can create TV ads or billboards as people to "Google Search" Used Cars in Denver, "the hope is that searchers click on the link and increase your pagerank . But the same could be done through newsletters, business cards and marketing messages on their website. The idea is to encourage people to search Google instead of giving an exact direction to go. Another way to employ this strategy is to share search query links with their followers. In other words, if your site already ranks fifth on the page of "cars in Denver," send a link to your site that is actually the address SERP. When people click the link, hoping to go to their site, which essentially is going to do a Google search. And the search query URLs are the same Google as natural searches. So when people click the link, the same as if they had their own search and since they are already looking for their website, they click the link and help you to better align that term.
Theories
However, keep in mind that these theories are still at this time. Google continues to deny the fact that the volume of search queries has some effect on the classification. Of course, it's in your best interest to discourage such behavior, why would they confirm the effectiveness of the tactic? However, it is important to note that the more people who are seeking their place, the best will do, so if you are looking for new ways to improve its positioning, giving these tactics a try and see if your page rank improves as a result.
