Business intelligence is nothing but to play with corporate data and to take decisions logically. As our business span is growing various businesses intelligence solutions are coming into picture. Whenever any company opts for business intelligence solutions, they expect a good return on investment. Some companies turn this opportunity into business growth and other again starts the analysis why they did not achieved it.

Secret of successful implementation is basically the effective of factors on which business intelligent concept is designed. For example if I play with business data very intelligently but my data are incorrect. I will be taking some wrong decisions and business intelligence failure starts from this point.

First biggest factor on which business intelligence is dependent is the data and its quality. In 2007 corporate companies are focusing on data quality. External data sources are also proved to be helpful in the same. Companies are using government data, university data for getting valid and verified information. If somebody uses wrong or inaccurate data then the effectiveness of results itself goes down even entire calculation is done very effectively.

Business intelligence software system should be multi platform. Some BI solutions are limited to one platform but we should choose the one who is better in terms of platform limitation. Furthermore it should have a capability to integrate with the existing system of the company. Sometime we choose a BI solution, which is not compatible with current system but looks better in terms of business intelligence results. We should not ignore the fact that the partial compatibility with organization’s current system may result into inappropriate data analysis and hence ineffective business intelligence decisions.

Business intelligence should provide all the data in some sort of readymade reports, which can be used by the users easily. It should provide us accurate and reliable result to design a better action plan. It should have capability to capture the data from multiple sources and to utilize the same for business intelligence data analysis.

Key performance indicators (KPI) are very important factor in business intelligence implementation. It is the factor, which gives us an idea about present state of business and future action plan to grow the business. For any business it is very necessary to evaluate performance time to time and also to analyze the effects of our actions taken. It given us an idea of our vision capability and also of visualization efficiency.

Some business action plans are taken based of analytics of corporate data. Business intelligence solution should have a capability to provide us the summary of reports after analyzing business process and business development. These reports are used in designing the best action plan and in better decision-making. Summary report generation should be user friendly in simple format.

Business intelligence solution should be very user friendly. Organizations have employees which are very old and don’t have too much training of complicated systems. If user will not be able to use the full potential of the system then all business intelligence efforts will waste.

Complex analytics needs several ready-made tools for analysis. System should have inbuilt facility of complex calculations and reporting system. If needed it should be able to use data warehouse for external calculations too without interrupting the online processing.

Flexibility of maximum number of users is a considerable factor because expansion of the organization may result into more employees any time. A provision for maximum users is always beneficial.

These are some factors on which business intelligence implementation is highly dependent. If these are considered very effectively, then business intelligence solutions can give best results for any organization.
