Seeking Solace In Quaint Cottages

For those of us who work and live in built up areas and survive through the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the thought of escaping to a deserted Island is a dream worth working for. To be able to jump on that jet plane and set off to sunnier and quieter climes. It’s all too easy to do, however when you actually get to your destination you find that you are surrounded by like minded people and their families, therefore, the escape is no longer there. You made the conscience decision to go abroad in the hope of leaving all this behind, but all too often everyone else seem to have the same idea. I learned that lesson the hard way, not mention an expensive way too. In the end I think I spent most of my time jumping on trains and busses in a feeble attempt to escape the noise, the noise I had worked so hard to avoid. Well this year I’m choosing something different, something quainter that won’t apply to the youth of today who have recently discovered alcohol! It’s not that I don’t like children as I have three of my own, it’s the generation who have come of age to who can drink, and or rather think they can drink. Therefore my destination of choice avoids this. So where is this fabulous destination? Simply put Cottages Lake District. The prices of holidays abroad may appear low at first glance, but then you have to ask yourself, who else can afford this and what type of people will there be. Would behaviour be displayed that is deemed inappropriate for small children? Is it a risk worth taking? Well in my opinion no. I would much rather go somewhere where I feel myself and my family would feel safe, have the same home comforts but in a different location, where can all enjoy each other’s company without feeling rushed, being able to take in the atmosphere without the noise. The Lake District is an area of natural beauty, it’s somewhere where many people have heard of but never made the journey to come and see. Each and every time there is something new, the villages are all so pleasant and welcoming. Somewhere you can feel at ease and breathe easy. The air is so clear and so is the water. The surroundings just blow you away. To be able to take a stroll by the lake and enjoy locally produced food is a luxury to behold. Although it’s a great big world out there, and yes not every holiday contains the type of people previously described above, it seems the more money you have available to spend on these holidays then the more your requests can be fulfilled, however not everybody has a few thousand to spend on family holidays every year. It’s nice to get away but also to be able to come back without trying to recuperate the loss of income that was your holiday!
