Getting a new home is a process you don't want to take lightly. This is a decision that will affect a least the next few years of your life. The ones that have attracted me the most and those that I would highly recommend to my friends and clients are the builders and contractors that are hands on. If you think that their suggestions are a little bit expensive, you may compromise with them by asking on some alte
atives that will suit your budget. Choosing the right builder follows the steps of our last blog, How to Choose a Log Home Supplier. Talk to their clients past and current. Visit a home or two they've built and pay attention to the details.
Competition simply provides the best result for buyers in the market thinking about building. We utilize this to your advantage. Builders aren't lowering quality and aren't providing a discounted service, far from it. Be sure to ask the potential builder for past references & recommendations. When you arrive at a residence that you really like ask who the builder of the house was. The production home is one that is designed on a large scale and mass produced as a "model". These models are often changed up a bit with available customizations and upgrades to the home. If you have employed the services of a design & build Type Company they will most likely have a builder or building company which they use.
