Few years before you hear a large number of people talking about how they have sold their homes and are now renting. If you have owned your own home for many years, this is actually a hard mental transition to make and yet many are. Well, renting may be a less expensive alternative and offers more freedom. Rentals at retirement facilities are in great demand and elderly apartment communities report their communities rapidly fill up.
The fact is that when you get older, your lifestyle gets changed to a large extent. If you are truly retired, and in good health as well, you may spend a lot of time traveling, not hanging around the house. At one community I know there is a bulletin board in the clubhouse where individuals post their rentals for free and you can easily contact the owners directly.
Another widely popular option is seniors apartment. These apartments are like any apartment community except it is designated for elderly. At these facilities, services designed for elderly are available. In the monthly rental fee, there may be options for meals, housekeeping and transportation.
