Over time Google has change up their algorithms enough to get rid of factors that don’t help to develop the most relevant data. It’s always the purpose of Google to generate the most relevant data for each search, currently this is dictated by link building. As many SEO professionals know Link building can make up 70% of optimization in many cases. The real question becomes how do I do this on a budget, and without being a spammer. In order to play by Google’s rules you should find links in the most relatives and enriching way for the web. This is a really nonspecific answer I know, but the truth is it really depends on what you are back linking for. In this case here’s a tip for back linking, R-I-S-K.

Relative-

Remember that your business needs to build trust as an authority and being relative to what you are an authority on. So if I’m looking to link for a Colorado Springs Roofer then I’m looking for content that can enrich the web, saying that there are a lot of contractor directories and how to blogs that can be great content to help build on. Let’s change it up and say I’m a Real Estate Agent, well I’m going to want to give information and help to find homes and giving advice on home buying.

Interesting-

Create a sense of intrigue and entertainment while informing and contributing to your topic. There are businesses out there that can really lack a certain engaging value, now in no way am I encouraging a joking debate. However a bit of good engaging even relatable content can really help people so don’t just be generic while building links, think more about enriching the web with helpful engaging content. For example, the topic of a Personal Injury Lawyer might be one that is more serious and “pitchy”. This doesn’t have to be the case being in the field of personal injury you should be able to contribute to the news and topics in a higher manner.

Specific-

Make your content interesting but you want to keep in mind your posting for a goal still. Make sure that whatever you are linking to for you is relevant in terms of the anchor text and the placement of the topic. I know I might be beating a dead horse but it is really important to stay relevant so don’t anchor a page on affordable wedding invitations to a page that has nothing to do with wedding invitations or being affordable. Stay specific in your goals and stay relevant to what your goals are.

Keep at It-

This won’t happen overnight and it definitely won’t just happen with a few links. This will always be a work in progress and should be as your contribution to your field should help to teach you about important events and news. So keeping in the loop of your business and field and getting a higher rank in contributing content to these discussions in your fields will give you more authority. This will only result in a higher rank in the search engines.

Go Ahead and R.I.S.K It

Ultimately you are looking to have results in search engines that will give you more exposure and have you ranking highly as an authority on a topic. If you can be Relative-Interesting-Specific-Keep at it , then you will kill it on the results pages of search engines.
