It seems like I always had a goal I was working for but it always took a long time. Sometimes I would get distracted and not even complete it. Then I would start something else. And it went the same way.
What was the problem?
My problem was that I didn't know how to set dynamic goals. What are dynamic goals? They are goals that come complete with action steps.
Bob Proctor, Law of Attraction teacher, tells the story of how he learned to be successful from his mentor, Clement Stone. Stone told him to write his biggest goal on a card and carry it around with him, so he could read it over and over again. Proctor said that the action of writing down his goal and constantly referring to it was one of the key factors in his successful career.
He also had a plan. He worked days as a fireman, and in the evenings, he ran a commercial cleaning business. He saved his earnings until he was rich enough to quit both jobs and start his own self-development mentoring business.
What about you? • Do you have an overall plan for getting rich? • How do you break down your larger goals into smaller ones? • Do you have the exact action steps to take you to your goal? • Do you know how to organize your action steps? • How do you TURBO-CHARGE your goals?
Here are 5 tips for setting dynamic goals.
Tip #1: You can start goal-setting by getting the BIG PICTURE and create an overall plan.
You need to determine things such as:
1. What do you want to do before you die?
2. What do you want your life to be like,10 years from now?
3. What so you want to be, do, or have in 5 years?
4. What so you want to be, do, or have in 1 year?
The key is to make the shorter goals go together to accomplish the longer goals. Then it becomes an organized, overall plan.
Tip #2: The way you build your plan is by breaking down the bigger goals into smaller goals.
So every month you look at your year's goals and decide what you can accomplish that month towards the attainment of the bigger goals. Then every week you look at your monthly goals and determine what actions steps you can take that week towards the monthly goals.
Finally you break down the weekly goals into daily action steps. The smaller goals keep you focused on the larger goals.
Tip #3: You can use the weekly and daily goals as action steps.
It's one thing to have a goal but it's another thing to break it down into action steps and take those actions. Many people have trouble actually performing the action necessary to reach their goals. When the actions steps become simply smaller goals, it's a lot easier to take the action.
Tip #4: It makes it easier if you have a goal planning book where you can write down your daily, weekly, monthly goals and coordinate them with the longer time periods.
Having a goal-setting organizer helps you plan out your goals and saves you time by having them all in one place. The more organized you are, the less time you waste.
Tip #5: You can integrate visualizations and affirmations with your goal setting to keep yourself focused and motivated and turbo-charge your goals.
Sometimes setting goals can be a formidable task. And maintaining you focus on them day after day until you can see your results can be challenging. But by combining your goal-setting skills with visualizations and affirmations, you can turbo-charge your goals. You can also have your affirmations in your goal book to keep you uplifted throughout the process. Keeping your planner with you at all times makes it easier to remember your goals as well as write new affirmations down as they come to you.
When you have a set of organized actions steps your goals become more exciting, meaningful, and dynamic!
