Setting Up a Sales Funnel
Today, I want to go into more detail about how to set one up that’s going to increase your sales and be easy to maintain.
Let’s get started.
1. Opt In – We’ll start with someone subscribing to your list. This is one you’ve probably got covered already. If you have any kind of freebie that incentivizes subscribers to join your list, you’re off to a good start.
2. Email Series – Once they’ve gotten their freebie, you’ll want to set up a series of emails so they can get to know and trust you. The content of these emails need to be valuable to the reader, but it’s perfectly fine to repurpose content for these. No need to reinvent the wheel. Using popular blog posts is a good bet.
3. The Tripwire – Once they’ve gotten to know you, the next thing to automate is an email series selling an inexpensive product. Digital Marketer calls this a tripwire because it’s an indication to you that they’re primed to buy a more expensive offer next. A book or similar product under $50 generally makes a good tripwire.
4. Your Core Offer – Once they’ve bought your tripwire, they trigger another email series for your main product, program, or service. This is a more expensive product than your tripwire, but it’s not your premium offer (that’s next).
5. Your Premium Offer – After purchasing your core offer, an email series selling your high-ticket service or program is triggered. This will likely be a longer email series and include complimentary sessions to further sell your high-end offer.
6. What about subscribers who don’t buy? At each stage of the process, everyone continues to receive your blog and any other email marketing, so they’re still hearing from you and still staying engaged. Even if they don’t buy as part of the funnel, they could become your best customer someday.
Because all of the emails for each part of the funnel are automated, this all works automatically with no extra effort for you once it’s set up. And the best part? You’ll have consistent income flowing in rather than booms and busts.
