Magnesium Oxide is also taken into use as an insulator in industrial cables, as a basic and strong material used for containers and as a principal fireproofing ingredient in construction materials. As a construction material, magnesium oxide wallboards have several attractive characteristics: fire resistance, moisture resistance, mold and mildew resistance, and strength. This chemical is high temperature resistant and so it is used to sheath thermocouples and also as filler in high temperature appliances such as rings of electric cookers.

In medicine, magnesium oxide is used for relief of heartbu
and sore stomach, as an antacid, magnesium supplement, and as a short-term laxative is used as a short-term laxative for rapid elimination of the bowels, especially before surgery. In thermal plants the usage of magnesium is a important mineral used in purification with other minerals. The most cost-effectively substantial industrial minerals produced aremagnetite, white calcium carbonate, limestone, silica, dimension stone, gypsum, sulphur, construction aggregate and crushed rock. The mineral magnesium compounds, such as that bonded with dolomite, are extracted using thermal reduction. Extreme high heat is required and process is much more expensive than electrolysis, the preferred extraction method. The mineral compound is heated at such a high heat until they separate into their own compound couplings. The magnesium joins with oxygen to make magnesium oxide and the calcium bonds with the leftover oxygen to create calcium oxide or lime. These compounds are further condensed using heat and silicon to extract the magnesium in the form of a gas. Then, it is cut by reactor to ready for purifying.
