I am reminded of something Dr Martin Luther King, Jnr said not long before he was assassinated:

"When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible; but in the end, they always fall. Think of it, ALWAYS."

Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."

I have admired and respected ‘Madiba’ for many years – for his “immense generosity of spirit”, graciousness and the nobility of his unique spirit of reconciliation”. And I have added a few lines of my own…
