Secretary desks were first designed and came in to shape in 17th century for the purpose of travelling. Then they were used in the offices to keep files and other important papers safe in it. Basically a secretary desk has some drawers, a surface for writing and shelves for books. This type of desks was best suited for offices use. This furniture is considered to be the oldest furniture amongst office furniture. But over time this office furniture has turned to modern propose, which has two functions; one is for decoration and the other is to provide enough space to keep books, documents and other accessories inside. The best part about secretary desks is that they can be placed anywhere you want or anywhere it best fits. If you place it in your bedroom beside the space and decoration that it provides, you can also comfortably read and write on it. There are a wide range of designs and sizes available in the market, if it comes shopping a desk you have to take into account the following points;
• First of all while buying a secretary desk you should watch for a suitable space in your office or room. You should have the measurement of the place accurately. If it is for your bedroom so the height should be less and if you are buying for the office it should be with height, in order to provide you with some space.
• The second thing is to look at the feature and surface of the desk. Determining the requirements of your job or duty, you can select your secretary desk.
• If it is a second hand desk, you have to check its condition. Whether it is durable or not, then looking at the design that it should not be much old fashion. The good thing buying a second hand secretary desk is that you can bargain with shopkeeper on its price.
• The last point to be focused on is to ask the salesperson about the history behind its design, the work on it or the wood used for its manufacture, which is more price effective factor while buying it.
