The symptoms of anxiety attack may vary from person to person. Read further to learn more about the different signs and symptoms of anxiety attack. Anxiety attack is a common reflex reaction to conditions or situations that make us uncomfortable or nervous. Response may be emotional, physical or behavioral. Anxiety may be caused by too much stress at work, pressures from home, lack of exercise or sleep, medical conditions, or other factors that we feel threatened with. Some recognizable symptoms of an anxiety attack include a raging heartbeat, upset stomach, shaking, trembling, headaches and shortness of breath. Other symptoms may also manifest as the person becomes irritable, easily distracted, apprehensive, restless and sleepless. When anxiety attack occurs some people feel that they are about to faint or pass out. They also feel like they are about to lose their sanity. Sensations like tingling or numbness in some parts of the body can also be felt when panic attack occurs. Aside from the numbness, muscle pains or fatigue can also be felt. It is also possible to feel the urgency of urinating or defecating. Experiencing some of the symptoms of an anxiety attack is a common occurrence and is not considered to be medically dangerous. These are normal feelings when one has too much worries or responsibilities that reached way out of bounds, or perhaps a lifestyle that provokes anxiety. Indeed, there may be several factors that trigger anxiety attacks. If kept at manageable levels may not require treatment at all. Some people immediately bounce back from anxiety attacks by commanding their subconscious to relax and be calm, and to condition them that the situation or condition will not cause them any harm. A person who is suffering from anxiety attack has the tendency to avoid a specific activity or specific place. This is because he thought that the anxiety attack he once had was too embarrassing or too life-threatening for him that he would not want the similar experience to recur. As a result, he would avoid some activities or places. One person does not want to be driving all alone again in a highway. He became so fearful about hurting someone else or meeting a road accident just because he was driving. The thought of having panic attacks in the middle of the road was all too scary for him to bear. From then on he would think that he has this fear of driving. But, what he does not realize is that it’s the fear of panic attack while driving that he’s been so scared about. When the symptoms of an anxiety attack become distressing and disruptive, it is high time to seek professional help. To some extent, persons afflicted with anxiety become so withdrawn that they would not want to go on with their normal, daily activities. They always fear about having another attack and then develop a constant, irrational worry that they may have life-threatening conditions. This already constitutes a disorder and merits a serious medical attention. Several tests can determine the real cause of anxiety. Some conditions will require drug therapy, while others can be cured by behavioral therapy. Still, others may benefit from both methods. Other people may even find relief from alternative and complementary medications. It is best to consult a doctor before taking any medications or any forms of treatment.
