Signs of Double Jeopardy for Jerusalem and US in “the Day of the LORD”

Summary: Daniel's vision of the ram and goat apply to Iraq and Iran because "the vision is at the time of the end," Daniel 8:17. The effort at a nuclear agreement with Iran is also the focus of Bible prophecy because, "when they say 'Peace and safety,' sudden destruction comes." 1Thessalonians 5:2,3. A third ingredient for end-times is "the sun shall be darkened and the moon turned to blood before the day of the Lord," Joel 2:31. The rare solar eclipse on March 20 and the impending "blood moon" on Passover, April 4/5 lead to expectancy of apocalyptic events.

“The day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety” then sudden destruction comes upon them.” 1Thessalonians 5:2,3. The nuclear talks between the US, UK, China, France, Germany and Russia reflect a 12-year conce
with 18 months of negotiations coming to a head at this time to fulfill the Bible's sign, whether or not they all agree.

“The day of the Lord” is also the focus when “the sun shall be darkened [solar eclipse on March 20's equinox] and the moon turned into blood before the...day of the Lord,” Joel 2:31. The “blood moon” on the eve of Passover, April 4 reminds us that it's a time of historic judgment.

Christians say “judgment must begin at the house of God” (1Peter 4:17), but Messianic Rabbi Jeff Weiss reminds us that God has two houses that need cleaning before He puts them together, Ezekiel 37:16,17,22. .

Jerusalem could suffer judgment as part of their Passover April 4/5 and if we see tragedy as Zechariah 14;1,2 projects, we should pray the White House will reverse its blame game that has emboldened the enemies of our only ally in the Middle East. The US should quickly counter militant Islam, represented by a pushy ram in Daniel 8, where a goat flies from the west to break the ram's horns (weapons of militancy).

It is interesting that God says, “Who is like Me, declaring the end from the beginning,” Isaiah 46:10. In the book of beginnings, Abraham was tested over his willingness to sacrifice his son. The Bible says it was Isaac, but Muslims teach that it was Ishmael. Which is the true holy book? We note in Genesis 22:13 that a ram was sacriificed to spare Isaac [Israel].

The vision in Daniel 8 supports the Bible as the true holy book because a ram is stomped by a goat that flies from the west. Historians say Alexander the Great's victory over the Medes and Persians fufilled Daniel 8, but Gabriel said, “the vision conce
s the time of the end” (Daniel 8:17) and the Medes & Persians are now Iraq,Iran/ISIS. Even before war with Iran/ISIS, the US may expect judgment for pressure on Israel to divide the land of the covenant made to Abraham, as well as our own moral decay from the days of Roe v Wade.
