There are two types of signs of heart attack men should know.

1. The get to the hospital immediately signs these include:

  • Chest pain or Discomfort
  • Pain Radiating from the chest to the left arm and neck
  • Nausea or Vomiting
  • Difficulty breathing, Shortness of Breath, or Dizziness

If you experience any of these signs and you have a family history of heart disease then get to a hospital. The mortality rate of a person suffering cardiac arrest outside of a hospital is over 90%.
If you are wrong about your symptoms then you will live to tell the story but if yo are right then it could save your life.

2. Change your lifestyle now signs

These include:

  • Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or higher
  • You Smoke
  • You are Inactive
  • You Have a High stress Level
  • You Consume Foods High in Saturated Fats

These signs are important indicators that you need to change your lifestyle if you want to reduce your chances of developing heart disease.

The first set of signs of heart attack men should know are important to help you survive a heart attack. Its like knowing having a fire escape plan in a building. If it ever catches fire it is good to know what to do.

The second set is like keeping your garage clean and all flammables put away safely.

Take a look at yourself by asking the following questions:

When was the last time I had a physical?
Have I taken the advice of my health care practitioner?
What is my BMI and have I ever measured it?
What do I do for exercise?
Why do I still smoke?
Have I had my cholesterol checked

After you have honestly answered these questions you will be able to see if you have a high risk for developing heart disease or not. Heart disease is a silent disease. It will sneak up on you if you are not careful. You will not be able to tell how much your arteries are clogged with fatty deposits from a high cholesterol level in your blood until you either have it tested or are suffering a heart attack because your heart isn't getting any oxygen.

Don't stick your head in the sand and ignore the warning signs. It is better to suffer a little bit to change a habit for the better then to suffer allot and possibly die while you stay the same.

One thing is for sure if you have a heart attack and survive your lifestyle will change. Why not change before you have a heart attack and avoid the pain and suffering?

There are several ways you can begin.

1. See your health care provider for a check-up

-ask what you can do to reduce your risk of heart disease

2. Start an exercise program

-even walking for 15 min per day will help

3. Stop smoking

-this will provide the fastest improvement in your risk of developing heart problems

4. Change your Diet

-reducing your saturated fat intake and increasing your fresh produce intake will work wonders for your cholesterol level

If you change one or all of these areas in your life you will be taking responsibility for your health something which will improve your chances of living a long and healthy life.
