Single Sane and Loving It!

Many people view being single as a season to rush through when in fact, you can use this time to grow personally, professionally, spiritually and emotionally. Holidays, particularly Christmas, New Year’s and Valentine’s Day are especially difficult even for the strongest folk. Allowing yourself to feel as if you are less than because you have no partner during these times is the true issue. Notice I said “allowing”. You are - at no time, less than anyone else. The only one who can make you feel that way is you. So stop right now!
Not having a significant other allows you to spend your time on yourself. Develop the mindset that this is a season, and then enjoy the season to its fullest. Invest time in your career by taking advanced courses or going away to seminars. This will open up your circle of friends and expand your horizons.
Volunteer to help the needy or the organizations that serve us all. Though by no means something for just singles, it does take the focus from being lonely to being a blessing to another. And speaking of blessings, count yours! Be aware (and beware) of taking your many blessings for granted. God does have a way of removing those things from your life that are not appreciated or utilized.
Take a long, hot bubble bath with a glass of wine or apple cider and a book you have been meaning to read. Should you need a list of books, our website has a page just for books! Invest in yourself, not by buying unneeded items or having a personal pity party. Strengthen your faith and your connection with God. Go deep inside where all your strength and answers lie. Trust and know that your good is on its way, be it a better relationship, job or opportunity. Know also that sometimes we must be ready for the opportunity as it presents itself. Should you not do the inner work necessary, you will miss your opportunities or not see them as such. This is special, sacred time – alone with yourself. Enjoy it and let it take you to your next level.
