When most of us think about an auto accident, we presume that it will involve two or more vehicles. According to KCBS-Los Angeles, the six women were involved in a single vehicle auto accident earlier this month when their auto hit a tree in Los Angeles. The ladies were apparently returning home after a night out. Emergency personnel arrived on the scene to find five of the women thrown from the vehicle. The sixth had to be extricated from the wreckage by emergency crews. All six were then transported to Los Angeles hospitals with serious injuries. The news report indicated when they were thrown from the auto, the ladies were all wearing what one firefighter referred to as “club attire.” Investigators also discovered empty bottles at the scene of the auto accident, where it appeared that the car had hit a curb before crashing into the tree. An investigation into the cause of the accident was ongoing at the time of the report. When those ladies set out for their evening, auto insurance was probably the farthest thing from their minds. And yet, auto insurance, however cheap it initially was for the driver to purchase, is going to cover repairs to the vehicle and the medical costs incurred by those who were injured. Because none of us, the six ladies included, can anticipate the unexpected events of life, insurance is necessary.
