1. Regular muscles and abdominal muscles are not the same. rnAbdominal muscles are just the same as all the other muscles in your body. Having said that, abdominals have a different location and they do not lie on the bones like the biceps or quad muscles. With this knowledge, you can train your abdominals similarly to that of your chest or biceps. Your abs come under the basic laws of physiology as every other muscle in your body. This means that you need to perform the exercises you use properly in order to effectively train your abs. rn2. Abdominal muscles have to be exercised each and every day. rnWhen weight training you actually need to give your muscles a day of rest. Working your abs every day is not necessary but try working them every other day. Giving your abs a rest is important. Training your abs hard is the key. rn3. Ab exercises kill belly fat. rnMany people assume that if you have belly fat, working the abdominal muscles will help rid the fat resting on these muscles. This assumption is incorrect. Repeatedly training a body part will not rid the fat over that particular muscle. You can only burn fat from your belly area by taking on a long-term exercise routine along with a healthy, effective diet plan. rn4. Multiple repetitions are needed to see results. rnAs stated earlier, the abdominal muscles are very much the same as all the other muscles in your body. Meaning that you need to work out your abs in a similar way to that of your other muscle groups. Gaining abdominal strength is just a matter of making your abs work. rn5. Anybody can have a flat belly. rnHaving a flat stomach is not possible to achieve for some people. This can be caused by the abdominals being slightly rounded in design as opposed to being flat. Genetics, age and gender also come into play when it comes to the size and shape of individual bellies. rn6. Training abs can make a bad back worse. rnWorking out your abdominals will strengthen your back. The muscles opposite each other in your body always help each other work. So, if your abdominals are not strong, your back will help support them when needed. Strengthening your abs will only help to strengthen your back. rnNow that you know the six main ab myths, you can aviod them easily. Just stick to training smart with approved training techniques to achieve great abs.
