Did you ever think why some online business owners earn huge profits from online business and others don't. You think it is because of their product or offer?
Well these can be the reasons, but one main reason of successful or unsuccessful internet marketing campaign is the design of the landing page.
A landing page is a web page that appears when a visitor clicks on a ppc advertisement. It helps you improve your sales rate, boost your sign up/conversion rate or tell page visitors about detail of your product/offer. A good page design is a big help grow your online business at the same time a bad page design can ruins your business.
Here are some of the errors that you must avoid when creating a landing page.
1 - Is your page litter with many colors, animated images: If your page looks like a rainbow that is filled up with many different colors and/or contain a lot of animated images/flash animations, you should redesign it to remove extra colors, animated/flashy images and make it simple page. Now question is how to make it a simple page? Answer is to remove extra colors. Use only two colors or less with different color tunes like blue and grey. Use light blue, sky blue, dark blue, royal blue, with different color tunes of grey. Try to include as less gif animated or flash images as possible and DO NOT use any unneeded picture.
2 - What are you displaying? Benefits or features?: One big sin that most internet marketers commit is to display their product features at prominent positions of page instead of displaying the benefits the customers will enjoy after using their product. Remember that page visitors come to your page because they were interested in the benefits they will enjoy after using your product. Visitors are usually less interested to see product features.
3 - Is your opt-in form or lead form is too long?: Having long lead form in page is another big mistake that many internet marketers do. A lead form with only name, email or phone number, message fields is enough. Researches shows with addition of one input field there is a reduction of two to three percent conversions. Besides, it is easy to fill out small forms.
4 - Is your page designed for tablets, ipods and large screen monitors? Another big mistake, these days standard page width should be 980px and there should another version of page for tablets and ipods so that if a tablet visitor access your page he should see page version designed for tablet, and if a laptop/desktop computer visitor arrive your landing page he should see page version that was designed for large screens.
5 - Is yours page loading fast? A big mistake because all visitors do not have fast speed internet connections. Some people use dial up connections and it takes much time to load a page that is filled up with heavy flash animations or graphics. If a page taking time to load, definitely, visitor will leave your website.
6 - Long paragraphs or irrelevant text: Some pages filled up with very long paragraphs and contain unnecessary text that is NOT a good practice. Remove all long paragraphs and replace with information in bullet points. Read all the text of pages and remove any unneeded text.
If you want to succeed with your internet marketing campaign you need trace out any out of these six common errors and remove it. After you have removed all errors run marketing campaign again and see the conversion difference. Keep in mind that your landing page design creates an impression to your visitors so you must give him great impression.
