Looking for a ticket and can’t find anything in your budget? Well here are six ways to lower your costs and fly cheaper from now on. 1. Always book during the weeks, for your departure and your return. Try to avoid weekends, because that’s where airlines start raising their prices. 2. Shop around at online booking agencies, but also check your travel agents. Nowadays you can find many around town, but also on the internet. These guys negotiate with airlines, so you can get prices at bulk rates. 3. Don’t book too far in advance, because there will be a point where airlines will drop their prices. When this will happen, no one knows, but you get a sense of things when you shop around for a little bit. 4. If you are really gutsy, try getting last minute tickets. Sometimes airlines have seats available and then try to get rid of it. It’s hard finding these on booking engines online, so talk to those agencies again, that’s what they specialize in. 5. Use mileage when you can, accumulating them is really easy nowadays. Open a credit card and the more you charge, the more points you get. When you book with points, you do have to book far in advance. Those seat classes are different, then the normal seat classes. 6. Fly cheaper by separating your flight segments. This doesn’t work when you have a non-stop flight, but if you have multiple stops, you can try segmenting your flight. This only works to get cheap international flights.
