Skin hydration is the biggest anxiety to anyone with a dry skin, irrespective of the person's age and gender. Dehydrated skin looks patchy and wrinkled, and could add years to anybody's age making him/her look older. An unhealthy lifestyle could be the reason for dehydration. Fast foods and aerated drinks cause dehydration and leave the skin looking dull and lifeless. Too many factors of stress or dry weather conditions could also be the reason for a dehydrated skin. Moreover, excessive use of medicines could also leave the skin dry. Smoking is another big culprit leading to a dehydrated skin. Pollution and extreme weather conditions make the skin dry and patchy, causing it to crack. Thankfully, there are many skin hydration home remedies that help in hydrating the skin and slow down aging. The easiest and quickest of all skin hydration home remedies is simply drinking ample water; at least 6-8 glasses in a day. This requires no expert's advice and quickly repairs the scaly and dry skin without actually spending anything. Another option would be to eat raw and fresh fruits and vegetables, and have juices of fruits and vegetables to hydrate the skin. Taking limewater at small intervals during the day also keeps the body hydrated and the skin glowing. Intake of tea and coffee cannot be treated as liquids, as one is bound to make more calls to the washroom and that actually causes severe dehydration. Drinking herbal tea however is good for hydration and keeps the skin glowing and radiant. Applying milk or milk cream is also one of the simplest and inexpensive skin hydration home remedies. Almond oil has been used since ages to bring life to dull and dry skin, and regular use of the oil promises to keep the skin gleaming. Almonds can also be soaked overnight, and a paste can be prepared by grinding them, and adding milk to the mixture, which is then applied on the skin and left for 15-20 minutes before washing it off. This is bound to give remarkable results. A good vegetable oil with a little salt added to it can be applied on the skin and washed off after 30-35 minutes. This leaves the skin looking younger. Also, foods containing vitamin A, E, and B help in hydrating the skin. A good moisturizer or sunscreen should be applied before stepping out in the sun to prevent the skin from drying and aging. Most beautiful women can vouch that applying extra virgin olive oil on the skin keeps them looking beautiful forever. Mixing the egg yolk of one egg to two spoons of powdered milk, and adding a little honey to it can prepare a good paste. This can be applied on the skin and left for 15-20 minutes before washing it off. This is sure to leave the skin soft and younger. Applying Vaseline or any other petroleum jelly is also one of the easiest and inexpensive of all skin hydration home remedies. Bathing in lukewarm water is recommended to retain the moisture of the skin, as extremely cold or extremely hot water leaves the skin dry.
