Do you r e a l l y want to get healthy? When we take the time to have a serious look at what stops us from doing the right things to insure a healthier lifestyle, we can truly begin a serious journey.

Write down a description of how you perceive your image. You can do this in front of a mirror if you like or you can have a discussion with a trusted friend. This assessment can start you on a journey to enhancing the areas you like and work to improve what you want to change. Sometimes we allow others to influence us and this can be positive or negative depending on the dialogue you are having. Make an effort to surround yourself with people who support and encourage you to become the best that you can be. Also, you might consider having a friend become an accountability partner. Select someone who you don’t mind sharing your goals, discussing how you are achieving a healthy lifestyle or when you have setbacks.

The goals you set for yourself should be things that you can truly achieve with encouragement and support. For example, if creating a healthier diet is your goal then it is recommended that you make small manageable changes daily. Stopping the habit of drinking sodas and sugary drinks will have a positive and impressive change toward your nutritional goals. One small can of soda contains 20 packets of sugar. If you drink a few of them with your meals then you can begin to see how you are sabotaging your chances for a healthier nutrition plan. Conversely, if you eliminate soda and sugary drinks you will reap the benefits and see positive results over time.

Another suggestion is to consider not stopping at Fast Food establishments and instead drive home to make a great salad. Also, taking a walk after dinner will help to clear your mind and counts as a great aerobics activity.

Finally, do not beat yourself up for a slip-up. Quickly acknowledge it and get yourself back on track. Most importantly, realize that it is going to be a process and not a “quick fix”. Gradual small changes in nutrition, fitness and positive thinking over a period of time can produce amazing results. Look in the mirror and see what is becoming a reality that began with you committing to improving your health. Positive thinking can help you to achieve and bring into existence the goal of a healthy life. You will begin feeling great, looking great and influencing others through you positive energy and healthy lifestyle.
