You can choose ones which are big enough to avoid being hurt by children when they play together. Dachshunds are easy to please and joyful. Shih Tzus are also fun dogs for your children. They are gentle and loyal, which will make it easy for your children to get along with. However, this dog has a long coat which requires grooming on a regular basis. While this may be a good way to give your children a sense of responsibility, small children may not be able to do this without adult supervision.
