Dress sharp and appropriately. Find out from people what type of dress code or what people tend to where at your destination. You can call the restaurant, stop there, or ask people that have been there before. Most of the time they will say casual or dress casual. Dress accordingly to the weather too. You don’t want to be sweating up a storm walking around or shivering when talking. I know it’s hard to decide but just wear something sharp and remember getting a little overdressed is better than being under dressed. Eat with your mouth closed. Even if for your whole life you have not done this do it that night. Chomping away at the dinner table is a big turn off. Do the chivalrous deeds. Wait for your date by the door or at the table when leaving somewhere if they go to the restroom. Always open the door for them. Watch for the traffic and be on the side of her that the oncoming traffic is coming. Same goes for walking along a busier road or smaller sidewalk. Be on the side of the traffic so that if a car comes careening through it hits you first. It won’t happen but it’s the chivalrous thing to do. Look up some cool facts or think about funny or good personal experiences you had at the town, venue, area, or restaurant you are going to. For example your going to eat at the “Old Inn”. Know that the place has been there 80 years, you were told it has excellent steaks, and that you have been looking forward to getting there for some time. Just know a little about the particular establishment or area that you are going to for a conversation starter or piece later. Also it makes it look like your half smart. Don’t interrupt your date when they are telling you a story or experience. You can look excited and get ready to say something back but let them finish. Don’t counter everything they tell you even if you do have a better more exciting story or experience. It’s not a battle it’s just a dialogue.
