Social media marketing is when a business uses a social network such as Twitter or Facebook to gain traffic or attention to their website or place of interest. The reason for this type of marketing is to create a want for people to share information with their own social network and get the message out on the Internet. Social marketing offers businesses the opportunity to make a connection to prospective customers and the media. Amongst common media are blogging, videos, and photographs. These offer a few of the ways and means for businesses to use and send messages to there various constituents. Constituents can then act on this media information by liking it or not liking it or just plan ignoring it. Or they can send it along to their group or circles of friends and family and associates. Deals are being made and products and services are being sold and developing networks are creating wealth. And keep in mind that this is all global. Even though there are tremendous opportunities with social media marketing, there are also a few drawbacks I would like to point out. One of the drawl backs is that it takes a great deal of time and effort to keep the ball moving around and bouncing through out the Internet globally. One of the solutions to this problem that many affiliate marketer’s use for this problem with social media marketing is to outsource the work. Outsourcing can be put into place with the tedious repetitive work that needs to be done on a daily or weekly basis. If it were the kind of thing a person loves to do, being very social, then it would be a fun project for those people. Learning the ends and outs of social media marketing can be done. It takes a great deal of commitment just like it does with anything that you want to learn. It requires time and effort.
