Google introduced a lot of new Android features for Android app developers in I/O (15-17 May 2013). The search engine giant also advised app developers about how to efficiently run their businesses. There are also several improvements on Google Play such as developers can now take the publishing of Android to new level and take the advantage of built-in app Translation Services feature. Here are the top new things that Google has introduced to Android developers.

Staged Rollouts for early testing and media reviewr
Staged Rollouts is going to be a hot feature. It is the ability to push unreleased apps to alpha and beta testers. The feature allows developers to give the press-members early access to their apps. Developers will have Google Groups and Google Play communities to manage their groups of alpha and beta testers. It also gives controls to manage staged rollouts, stop a rollout, push fixes to beta testers, etc.

Translation services for app localizationr
Android developers will now be able to connect their apps to professional translation services. In other words, developers will be able to translate their apps through professional translators so that a new revenue stream could be opened up. For example, if an app has never been released in Polish but performing well in Poland, its localization may help developers make more money.

Revenue Charts with Better Insightr
Now developers will have a new visibility into their revenue. New charts will be able to show various statistics such the total money an app had made in the past, the total money an app has made on a particular day, etc. The ability to see how much money an app made on certain period of time can help developers discover what caused an increase or decrease. Developers will soon be able to connect to Google Analytics and Google developer console. A TechCrunch article with the title “Google Play In-App Purchase Revenue Growth Jumps 7X In One Year, Subscription Revenue Growing 2X Each Quarter” covers the full story.

Detailed Information About Tablet App Usage

Google developer consol and Analytics offer Android developers a neat pie chart that shows apps usage by screen size and screen density for Android tablets. This section will also help end-users to find out that apps are compatible for tablets. An article of PCMag.com with title “5 Big Changes Coming for Android Developers” offer detailed information.

App optimization tips sectionr
Google has also added an app optimization tips section to Google Play. It will help Android developers discover about what is affecting the performance of their apps. This section will explain how developers can fix all those issues which are holding back an app from greatness.

The ability to reply directly to a user reviewr
App developers will now be able to reply directly to a particular user comment or review. However, Google announced this feature at the last I/O conference but now it is universally available. This feature is considered valuable for both Android developers and end users.

These are latest surprising improvements by Google for Android application developers.
