Mobile apps have become highly popular in today’s world. It is very common that if you have a smart phone or other mobile device, you are possibly using apps for sure. They are easily downloadable and are often free.
Mobile apps are generally very convenient and can be downloaded without even thinking about how they are paid for, what information they can gather from your device or who would receive this information. These applications are used for several purposes like playing games, accessing books, news, weather, getting turn-by-turn directions and many other purposes.
rnIn this article we would learn about some of the basic aspects about mobile apps, and you can even find answers to some of your basic queries.
Mobile apps: What they are? They are software programs which are downloadable and accessible directly using a smartphone device or any other mobile device, like a tablet or music player.
The necessity of downloading and using these apps. It is important to note that all apps don’t work on all devices. Even you would need a smart phone or a compatible mobile device with internet connection to use them. The device you won and its operating system determines the types of apps you can use on them.
The Blackberry, Apple, Microsoft, Android and iOS applications are available in the app stores online where you can look for, download, and install apps. You may also get online retailers offering stores for purchasing applications.
Some online retailers also offer app stores. This online app store also needs to be compatible with your device’s operating system. Sometimes when you are downloading a chargeable app, you would need to create an account and provide your credit card details. To set up an account, you may have to provide a credit card number, especially if you’re going to download an app that isn’t free.
Why some of these apps are free? There are certain reasons that make the distribution of some of the apps free from the app stores. This is because the developers make money in different other ways from the application. They sell advertising space within the app and earn money from them, this is why they distribute the app for free to reach as many users as possible. Some others allow you to buy additional features within the app itself. Some of the apps offer their basic versions for free and their developers hope that the users would like it and upgrade to a paid version with more features. Few apps are given free with products of other companies, which is also a way of advertising.
The reason behind the ads in the downloaded applications. The main motto of the developers is to provide their apps as reasonably as possible so that more and more people would use them. Offering advertising space in the app would let them provide it for a lower cost than if it didn’t have any ads. They even sell space to ad networks, who in turn sells the app space to the advertisers. Apple, Microsoft, Android and iOS applications have both free and chargeable categories which help them reach out to more and more users and even make money.
