When I tell people, I can buy a months worth of groceries for $ 300 (or $ 200 in a pinch), they ask, how do you do that? Well, it's really not as difficult as it seems. The key is organization and planning. Here are some tips for newcomers to the humble shop in the world.Stock up! Your first trip to the grocery his way to saving is actually spent slightly more than you're used to. Items that are staples in your pantry should be purchased in large quantities if possible. This includes items such as flour, sugar, pasta, dried beans, rice, oatmeal, canned goods, etc. Plan your menu. Before you head to the grocery store, make a meal you plan to prepare the list. When you shop for two weeks to two weeks, the list is worth a meal. Look at what you have on hand and what is sold in a week circulars from grocery stores before you plan your meals look.Use coupons. If there is a specific subject will always look to buy coupons. If an item is sold and then you have a coupon to purchase this item. Do not use a coupon just because something is new or fashionable, just use coupons if they will save you money. Buy a shop sign. It is true that all TV and magazine advertising to make the name brand items appear more glamorous, but often times the store brands are just as good if not better. In fact, many shop signs are produced by the same name-brand companies, we all know and recognize.Shop sale days. Our local grocer offers discounts every Thursday. They range from one day to sell meat from the Pillsbury brand sales. No matter what the theme for the week, prices are always great! Do not buy convenience foods. It is easy to load up a grocery cart frozen meals, instant boxed dinners, individual serving size of juice, pre-packaged lunches and junk food. But not only these items offer little nutritional value for your family, they are wasting money. Which is why I almost always ... Cook from scratch! The more you prepare a meal from scratch, the more money you save. Home cooked meals, as well as more nutrition and you know exactly what you are eating, unlike many of the finished dishes. From scratch is not a lot of time and clean up. A simple meal like baked or fried chicken, steamed vegetables and rice can be prepared up to 30 minutes with minimal clean up.Fixed effects. I always try to prepare a double batch at any time I cook anything. It saves me time and effort in the future, and meals for the days that things get really hectic, I do not have to worry about what the dinner. I also freeze bread ends to make your own bread crumbs (which I keep refrigerated), dinner leftovers for future use, banana bread and muffins and anything else that might otherwise get thrown out and wasted. Store Price Book. If the store take a few minutes to jot down what you buy and how much it costs. Make a master list of items and prices (including prices for each store that you shop). When the time that it's you know if it's worth it to go to another store on hand selling point. It's also a great way to calculate how much you spend before you get to the grocery store. I actually use a software called Home Cookin in my price book.Only take what you plan to spend. If you use a debit card, pick up the pick of the amount you plan to spend shopping for ATM. Then, leave your card home. In this way, you do not try to spend more than you have budgeted. Eat your leftovers. Is the bean residue that refried beans. Continuous bread can be made into bread pudding. Chicken from last night dinner is chicken salad. The remainder of pasta sauce to the top of the pizza. Do not prepare a meal until all the leftovers are gone.Forget fast food. My theory is if you do not buy it if you can not eat. We rarely buy soda, chips, cookies, ice cream, cakes or any other junk food. I give my children healthy snacks, and we drink lots of water. I will make them Kool Aid, lemonade and tea, but they do not lose fast food because they are not used to it.
