Everyone probably have the mentality that you will excel on the stage, giving an excellent speech to everybody below. But when it’s time to go on stage, you get nervous and start having stage fright and that affects your performance. For once, you want to look for a perfect solution to overcome your stage fright. Well here you are, your one-stop solution for your problems. Just take note of my tips, and you’ll be all prepared for your public speaking.

1. Find a topic
First of all, you have to find a topic that you are interested in and you can talk about. Make sure you have something interesting to say. This is very important, because you will be speaking to your audience. If you have no interest in your speech, you and your audience will suffer. Also, having an interesting topic to talk about, you won’t be so scared when you are starting off your speech.rnDraft out if you think you need. But be careful, never to write down all your speech and memorize them. You might forget them and panic in the end.

2. Practice with people around you
You probably have an idea on what you are going to say, but you don’t know how to face your audience and how to deliver your speech. This is easy. Call your friends or your love ones and gather around in a hall, while you stand on stage and do your rehearsals. Bring a camcorder to record your performance if possible. You can practice with them until you are confident with your speech. Ask them for opinion and the areas to improve on. From there, make necessary amendments. 3. Get plenty of sleep before your speech day
This is very very important to a Public Speaker. Never over-stress yourself. Have plenty of sleep as it will replenish your energy. Anxiety and nervous would definitely be the feelings you will be having, but that doesn’t mean you should strain yourself and practices again and again. Let nature takes its course. The more you are stress, the more mistakes you will be making.
Turn on some relaxing music when you are sleeping. This will relax your mental and your muscles. Or if you don’t feel like sleeping, you can read some books to distract your thoughts of having stage frights. Clear your calendar of stressful events that could interfere with your ability to concentrate and speak confidently and sincerely.

My neighbor has a 12 year old son, and even he can deliver a speech with amazing confidence and composure. At his mom’s birthday dinner, the dedication he gave to his mom, although short, was a charming speech filled with energy and poise that captured the attention of everyone present. If you have the decency in life to not pale in comparison to a 12 year old, you should brush up on your public speaking skills now.

Good luck,
MJ
