Our inner beings are like mirrors that should be regularly polished in order to shine. But as we go through our daily lives, it is often easy to forget how essential is our continuous spiritual growth. Some may take a break from their daily lives to conduct holy land tours or to explore other cultures and countries. While travelling is a wonderful option, it is also possible to find the balance between our daily duties and our own spiritual growth right at home and create a path that will serve both without conflict. rnFinding the Spiritual in Daily Chores rnThe teachings of the Lord can be found in the simplest of daily activities. Our daily chores, no matter if they are related to housework, office work or caring for our children, can all be considered as sacrifices of sorts. In this day and age, when so much uncaring and selfishness dominates the world, the very act of caring for children, or providing for your family, should fill your heart with pride and joy. Changing your attitude and finding joy in each of your routine daily activities will change the way you feel about yourself and the world around you. rnFinding the Relationship Between Bible Stories and our Daily Lives rnWhile reading passages from the Bible, try to find ways in which they are related to your own life. You don’t have to preach to millions in order to feel you are doing something worthwhile. Remember that the same dilemmas and hardships that you encounter in your daily life faced the biblical saints. Talking with your children, with your loved ones, family and friends, helping them, caring for them and listening to their needs, are as spiritually important as the ruling of nations. rnServe as a Personal Example rnIt is always easy to find fault with others, but it takes greatness to serve as a personal example. Too many are tempted to leave the path of righteousness because of what they see around them. Doing your duties with a smile on your face and a kind attitude serves as an example to your children, family and neighbors. This will not only reflect outwardly, but will serve to improve the way you feel about yourself. If you have children you will be amazed to discover how your personal example will make them shine. Read to them, share with them your inner conflicts and beliefs and never allow yourself what you do not allow them because you believe it to be wrong.
