“What you are is God’s gift to you, what you become is your gift to God” By- Hans Urs Von Balthasar Spirituality means something different to everyone. For some, it’s about participating in organized religion: going to church, synagogue, a mosque, etc. For others, it’s more personal: Some people get in touch with their spiritual side through private prayer, yoga, meditation, quiet reflection, or even long walks. Traditionally, spirituality refers to a process of re-formation of the personality but there is no single, agreed-upon definition of spirituality. Now-a-days people often debated and commonly misunderstood spirituality. Many people confuse spirituality with religion and so bring pre-existing beliefs about the impact of religion to discussions about spirituality. Though all religions emphasize spirituality as being an important part of faith, it's possible to be ‘spiritual’ without necessarily being a part of an organized religious community. Difference between Spirituality and Religion • Religion is a specific set of organized beliefs and practices, usually shared by a community or group. • Spirituality is more of an individual practice and has to do with having a sense of peace and purpose. It also relates to the process of developing beliefs around the meaning of life and connection with others. Many of us want to bring spirituality into our lives but don't know where to begin. Or we think we have to sit in silent meditation for an hour each day in order to be “spiritual.” Here are 5 easy tips to begin to decrease stress, calm your mind, deepen your spiritual connection, and increase your overall happiness and health. 1. Spend time alone – In today’s life people are so busy that they don’t have time for themselves. This is one of the biggest reason that people are suffering from various problems like stress and depression. Take a pause for yourself and think are you really happy with your life? Give at least 1 hour per day to yourself for relaxing your mind. 2. Develop daily rituals and study – Start reading books based on spirituality and rituals. It will help you to get relief from your daily life problems and live in present leaving behind past and future worries. 3. Move your body – Give at least 1 hour for daily exercises or yoga. Yoga is the best thing that keeps your body and mind healthy. If yoga doesn't speak to you, then dance, take a martial art, or start a fitness routine that you love and makes you feel good. The idea is to release tension and increase the connection to your body. 4. Step out of your comfort zone – Stop living in a comfort zone and look out for exciting things or we can say challenging things for ourselves. We may begin to have creative desires that we never knew we had or feeling more fearless to take a travel adventure on our own. These practices may be unlike anything we've ever done before....Scary. Weird. Uncomfortable. It's OK. Stay open. Magic happens here. 5. Give - We can grow in our spiritual development by helping and giving to others like donation to charity. Offer our skills to those who need them. We can give money or give our time. Either way, being more generous in our actions, behaviors and personality will help our spiritual development. Spirituality is all about living life happily and help others also to live a happy life. We should not forget that “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” Spirituality teach us a perfect way to live our life and make it meaningful. Spirituality is a world where you can find peace and a positive attitude to live a wonderful life.
