English is a language which is updated at a regular interval. We need to update ourselves at regular intervals to enhance our spoken English.
Tips to improve Spoken English
- Observe the mouth movements of those who speak English
- While watching television, observe the mouth movements of the speakers.
- The best exercise would be to do Mirror Practice. This activity is done by standing in front of the mirror and observing the movements of the way one person opens and closes his or her mouth.
- Slow your speed down, until you learn the correct intonation and rhythm of English
- If you speak too quickly and with the wrong intonation and rhythm, the listener will have a hard time.
- So, speaking at a low pace, at the initial level is of utmost importance.
- Make a list of frequently used words that you find difficult to pronounce and ask someone who is well versed with the English Language.
- Record these words, listen to them very often and practice saying them.
- Pronounce the ending of each word
- Pay special attention to “S” and “Ed” endings.
- This helps in strengthening the muscles of your mouth.
- Record your own voice and listen for pronunciation mistakes
- Some people hate to hear to their voice and avoid listening to themselves.
- However, this is a very essential exercise to improve your Spoken English.
- Be Patient
- You can change the way you speak, but this does not happen overnight.
- You need to be very patient with yourself.
- Learning is a slow process.
Our English can be updated gradually. For this we need to make reading our passion. Once we have got a command over our spoken English, Confidence, Vocabulary will definitely fall in the alignment.
