Not long ago, Sprint announced plans to expand its Ethernet access to twenty-five new domestic markets by the end of this year. The expansion would bring the provider’s grand market total to 65, and includes Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Denver, Nashville and New Orleans. Currently, Sprint offers Ethernet access to wholesale and business partners in 37 countries and 40 US markets.

In addition to the U.S. market extension, Sprint also declared plans to develop its Ethernet service into supplementary international regions in 2012. In a recent press release, the provider stated that the improved Ethernet access availability for its Dedicated Internet Access and Global MPLS offers both wholesale partners and businesses “more opportunities to reduce network costs for high-bandwidth locations and simplify the complexity of maintaining multiple types of technologies.”

Sprint Ethernet services offer businesses with multiple metro area locations simple and economical network interconnectivity. Sprint’s comprehensive Ethernet service features include:

  • Optional Managed Network Services
  • Numerous, streamlined virtual connections through one access line
  • Site-to-site/point - to - point data connectivity
  • Three levels of service, ranging from Ethernet (10-Base T) to Fast Ethernet (100-Base T) and Gigabit Ethernet (1000-Base T)

Sprint’s Ethernet services also provide robust benefits, such as:

  • Increased speeds – Ethernet services from Sprint offers greater productivity for you employees by putting an end to those annoying and aggravating bottlenecks that occur during peak periods
  • Simplicity – Sprint’s Ethernet services employ the same recognizable technology as Ethernet Local Area Networks, making it easy for your in-house tech team to support it
  • Scalability – You can quickly and easily augment the number of locations or users for nominal additional costs
  • Cost-efficiency – Because you are able to leverage the previous investments Sprint has made in tech personnel and public network infrastructure, its Ethernet services are exceedingly economical for enterprises that require large volumes of bandwidth for applications that do not demand QoS
