SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam 2012 Syllabus

The main responsibility of the Staff Selection Commission(SSC) is to make recruitment to Group C (non-technical) & Group B (non-gazetted- both technical & non-technical) posts in departments of Government of India, its attached & subordinate offices except those for which recruitment is made by the Railway Recruitment Boards & Industrial Establishments. For this purpose the commission conducts combined graduate level exams all over India, from time to time. SSC recruitments are primarily made on the graduate level basis. To be eligible to appear in these exams you have to be a graduate from a recognized university. For the SSC combined graduate level exam 2012, The written exam for Tier I will be held on 1 July 2012 & 8 July 2012 and written exam Tier II, for candidates who had cleared Tier I examination, will be held on 15 September 2012 and 16 September 2012. The Examination will be followed by Computer Proficiency Test/ Interview/ Skill test, wherever applicable as per the Scheme of Examination. rnThe syllabus for this exam is as follows:-rn1.#Tier-1 of the examination : a) General intelligence and reasoning – It will test both verbal and non-verbal analyzing and reasoning skills of the candidate. This section may include questions from areas like analogies, similarities and differences, number classifications, problem solving, venn diagrams, social intelligence etc. rnb) General awareness – This section will test the candidate’s general awareness as well as his/her knowledge about the current affairs and how the candidate can co relate various issues and come up with his/her own perspective about it. It will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining history, geography, culture, economics, science etc.rnc) Quantitative aptitude – The questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidates to use numbers appropriately and his/her number sense. rnd) English Comprehension – Candidate’s ability to understand correct English, his/her basic comprehension and writing abilities will be tested. 2. Tier-2 of the examination – a) Paper-1 – Quantitative ability, the content will be same as mentioned in the Tier-1 category/rnb) Paper-2 – English Language and Comprehension – Questions will be designed to test the candidate understands and knowledge of English language. Focus will be more on areas like spot the error, fill in the blanks, synonyms etc. rnc) Paper-3 – Statistics (For investigator grade-II) By thorough coverage and analysis of the above mentioned syllabus, you can do well in the SSC combined graduate level exam-2012.
