After being defeated by Matt Serra, Georges St. Pierre attempts to redeem himself for the Welterweight Title.nnCanada hosts some big time MMA events delivered by the UFC. Georges St. Pierre and Matt Serra are trying to establish who is the better welterweight. After one of the biggest upsets in UFC history, Matt Serra was expecting the MMA world to embrace him with open arms. He ended up spending the last year hearing about how Georges St. Pierre would avenge his loss to him and restore his power in the welterweight division. nnSerra is now unaccustomed to being written off. Hardly anyone outside of the Long Island area expected that he would would end St. Pierre's seemingly unstoppable run. After defeating Chris Lytle to win the season of The Ultimate Fighter, Serra defeated St. Pierre and knocked him out. It's been a year since then but Serra has remained on the sidelines due to a neck injury that put an end to a title defense against Matt Hughes. nnThat injury gave St. Pierre an opportunity to redeem himself as he took on Hughes for the interim welterweight title. St. Pierre excellent fighting skills at Hughes' expense. This came as no surprise. St. Pierre has been known to effortlessly outclass his competitor with a combination of talent and borderline unfair tactics. nnSt. Pierre bounced back well during his first match with Hughes but expecting the same against Serra may be asking a bit much of the MMA wanna-be king. Serra has already proven himself to be an excellent wrestler and has survived the submission skills of grapplers such as B.J. Penn or Jason Miller. nnPierre might seem to be a consummate MMA fighter in comparison to Serra, considering that he is undersized at welterweight and hasn't yet proven that he can use his grappling skills inside the Octagon. Nevertheless, experts say that Serra should be able to unleashing his keen MMA skills on St. Pierre a 2nd time. nnIt's possible that St. Pierre will resurrect his welterweight reign with the same safety first approach that he took against Penn. That could make things difficult for Serra, even if he gets off to a good start the way he did the last time around. nnSt. Pierre could quickly knowck Serra on his back with takedowns and gradually wear him down. Even though that could be a dangerous maneuver against a grappler with Serra's abilities, St. Pierre has the submission defense to block anything Serra may have up his sleeve. Things could quickly turn around if St. Pierre establishes his dominance and forces a stoppage late in the 2nd round. Unless, of course, Serra can pull things off again.nnnn
