So your cruise ship is making port in St Thomas, in the USVI...now what are you going to do? From shopping, to snorkeling to beach bar crawling to sun worshipping on some of the most picturesque beaches, there are a lots of St. Thomas Cruise Excursions to choose from. Here are some of your options to explore the island. St Thomas Cruise Excursion - Land Tours Not a fan of the water? Don’t like the idea of getting off one boat to get onto another? No problem, there are a number of things to do right here on St. Thomas. Aside from shopping, which is some of the best in the Caribbean, there are is an open air tour that takes you to the Great House and to Magen’s Bay...St Thomas’ most famous beach. (Have drinks served to you by a bikini clad waitress while you are in the water!) The Great House was once the Governor’s House and sits on one of the highest points on the Island, giving spectacular views of the other side of St Thomas and Magen’s Bay. St Thomas Cruise Excursion - Sailing Tours There are a number of sailboat charters you can take, including a floating glass bottom raft that circles Charlotte Amalie Harbor. If you like catamarans, there is a champagne sail and snorkel trip that takes you to Honeymoon beach on Water Island, or another that will take you to Buck island to snorkel with turtles. St. Thomas Cruise Excursion - St. John Why go to St. John? For the Beaches! About two-thirds of St John is designated National Park, that was donated by the Rockefeller Family in 1956. Because of this, there is an abundance of unspoiled beauty and phenomenal beaches, including Cinnamon Bay, Trunk Bay, Waterlemon Cay, Hawksnest Bay, and more. There are no flights to St. John, so you have to go by boat. You can choose to take a ferry from the east end of St Thomas in Red Hook, or a number of large volume passenger charters. There is a better way to get to St. John though... St. Thomas Cruise Excursion - Private Boat Want the best of all St. Thomas cruise excursions? A private powerboat charter or tour. Why? Most of the other options have you doing the activities with 30-80 other people. This means you have a large group of people trying to snorkel - scaring the fish away, and the group naturally slows things down...you’ll see or do one or two things, then head back to your cruise ship. Also, they have a set itinerary going to the same old places day in, day out, regardless of the weather. With a private powerboat charter, your day’s itinerary can be arranged around the age of the people in your group, the level of snorkeling skills, or how many different beach bars you can cram into one day! From St. Thomas, you can easily see the best beaches of St, John, go up to Jost Van Dyke and see Foxy’s and/or the Soggy Dollar - two of the finest beach bars in the BVI - and still have time to head over to Norman Island to snorkel or swim in the Caves, and jump off the roof on the (in)famous Willy T, a floating pirate barge. Since the day is all yours, you can decide to spend more time at the places you like, and less at the places you don’t. You can also modify the trip around the day’s weather, dodging rain clouds as well as the other tour boats! There are a number of St Thomas Cruise Excursions for you to choose from. Since you could be on a “once in a lifetime’ trip - make sure you make the most of it!
